Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing branding portraits for Twyla and Anissa from Level Up Fitness in Waltham, MA! Level Up serving their community for over 15 years, and is a team of licensed massage therapists and personal trainers dedicated to helping you move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free!
The creative direction for this project was based on their logo and branding colors, which include a gradient from grey to red!
I love mixing text with portraits to help share the story behind the person I’m photographing! Here’s an example where I add text to the wall behind the subject in post-production.
Whenever I photograph branding portraits, I try to give a wide variety of looks, framing, styles, and backgrounds, so that my clients can use their photos for a multitude of purposes (including social media, marketing, advertising, website, magazine features, PR, press, and more).
At my photo studio in Metrowest Boston, I have a variety of seating for portraits, including stools, chairs, boxes. For these portraits, we used my “studio cubes” which are fun for getting creative in terms of posing!
When I photograph marketing and social media portraits, I always try to give some options where there is a lot of blank space in the portrait. This makes it easy for my clients to add text about their upcoming events or promotions and it will be easily readable!
